Antique Victorian Terracotta Mastiff Dog Sculpture Statue. 1800s. Glass Eyes.

Rare old resting dog statue obtained from auction of Mastiff collector. Displays nicely the sculpture intact in seemingly good condition for its advanced age and fragile nature. Has been displayed in my library over the decades since its acquisition. Paint condition as shown. Flawed surface. Minor scuffs and scratches, the painted finish appears crusty, layered, worn with loss of painted surface coloration at some places. Further cleaning or restoration if it is desired -up to new owner. Notable inset glass eyes. Front paws are extended. This dog statue appears to be identically matching description of 19th century Austrian cold painted terracotta dog lying down with paws stretched out in front of him.
