Vintage 1940's Hand-Hammered Solid Copper Cloche Serving Dish with Lid and Brass Handle – Large Estate-Quality Piece This large, hand-hammered copper serving dish and matching domed lid are beautifully crafted and designed for serious presentation or service. Measuring approximately 18″ long × 13″ wide × 6.5″ tall to top of lid handle, this piece has the size, weight, and visual presence of estate-level copper cookware or presentation ware. Both the dish and lid display visible hammering—inside and out—denoting hammered handmade construction (not stamped sheet). The lid’s brass handle adds a higher end detail, and around the rim of the dish there is a stamped '20' size mark and the lid edge also has a stamped '20'. The underside of the lid shows a faint sticker (partially worn) that reads “… Works … Crafted”, though the full maker’s name is no longer legible. Inside lid is tinned. The patina is warm and consistent; the lid closes securely; there are no visible structural cracks; the condition is very good for its size and age. This is equally suitable for home serving (roast chicken/ham, fish, centrepiece vegetables) or as a decorative display item in a kitchen or dining room styled with copper and farmhouse or rustic aesthetic.
