Here is a bit of global finance/trade/currency history all rolled up in one tie! If your guy is into finance, he probably knows the name on this tie.
In excellent/new condition, this navy blue silk-blend tie, with a currency print, bears the company name of Deak International.
In addition to the company (Google "Deak-Perera", or Nicholas "Nick" L. Deak if you're not familiar with it), one of the currencies in particular helps to date the tie, which is "DM" for Deutschmark (aka Deutsche Mark/German Mark/West German Mark). That currency went the way of many other European currencies when the Euro was adopted 20+ years ago.
My *guess* is this tie is from the late-1980s based on the info you can dig up about Deak International (post-Deak-Perera bankruptcy), as well as the currencies represented on the tie, which were among the strongest of that decade, particularly the Japanese Yen (the other two represented are the British Pound Sterling and U.S. Dollar).
Photos 5-6 show measurements, 3" at widest point, and 54" total length
Photos 14-16 show the final bit of info about this tie, the label & the material. "The Challenger" did not come up in any trademark searches, but the RN# turns up Carter & Holmes, a well-known Chicago neckwear company which specialized in custom neckwear designs beginning in 1891. Other "The Challenger" ties found bear other companies labels (including one here on PM).

@wallstreetbsd It is Sam, yes! I am away until tomorrow though, so it won’t be available to actually purchase until tomorrow evening, once I’m back. But it is still available! Thanks for asking! Mireille 😊

@mireille11 excellent. I like this tie but I’ve got a few outstanding poshmark orders that I’d like to take delivery of before purchasing. You should see an offer in the near future
