There's a BASIC NUMBERING SYSTEM for wig shades. Wig color numbers typically follow a scale from darkest to lightest: Numbers 1-4 are black to dark brown, 1 being black & 2 being the darkest brown shade, numbers 5-10 are medium to light brown, numbers 11-15 are lighter brown to dark blonde shades, numbers 16-26 are blonde shades from medium to light, numbers 27-33 are natural reds, from strawberry blonde to auburn shades, numbers 34-60 are the grey shades, from salt & pepper to white, and the numbers 101, 102, and 613 are the platinum blondes. Then we add the letters into the mix - H for highlighted, T for tipped (lighter on the ends), R for rooted (darker at the roots), F for foiled (salon-style highlights), S for shaded (slightly darker at the root). A common example would be 12FS8 - 12 is light golden brown, FS is "fashion syrup" (chunky highlights), and 8 is the medium brown root. So, this shade is a highlighted light brown with medium brown roots and bold blonde highlights. Some wig manufacturers may vary the number placement order, so check the descriptions through their website or watch available videos online. We do make an effort to describe the shades on each listing to help you along your wig journey. Thanks so very much for shopping with us!
