Westwood’s iconic FW95 “Vive la Cocotte” collection was her deep dive into the performative politics of femininity—pulling from Belle Époque spectacle, 18th-century courtesan theatrics, & the idea that seduction itself could operate as a kind of social manoeuvring. This archival lace corset sits firmly in that storyline: sculpted boning structure, paneled stretch sides for that wasp-waist line, & a row of metal busk clasps running through the intricate lace-covered front. As seen on Shalom Harlow in Look 75 at Westwood’s runway show at the Louvre Carousel on March 18th 1995. The season played w/ artifice as empowerment, letting historical lingerie silhouettes read as both armour & provocation, & that duality is built into every panel here. A rare, London-made Gold Label piece from one of Westwood’s most conceptually rich mid-90s collections.
Condition: Good vintage condition; some l wear to the delicate lace consistent w/ an archival piece 3 decades old.
Size on tag: 10 UK (approx US 6). Measurement estimates avail upon request.
