Offered is a rare hand forged Hunt Fox with detachable Amp/whip doorstop from the early fifties. Virginia MetalCrafters was America’s premier Brass manufacturers known worldwide for impeccable reproduction of American colonial items. Hand forged and often involving artists of the times in their creation , today are highly prized by collectors, especially limited and creative items like the fabulous Fox doorstop offered today. Makers mark and production numbers are clearly pictured and the piece is in exceptional condition with the original lacquer still shining nicely and protecting the brass it envelopes. Used primarily as a doorstop, the piece offers the ability to be used otherwise with the Whip being easily removed. I have used just the head as a bookend as well as a paperweight! Always a great conversation piece. One will have significant difficulty in locating this Fox in this condition at this value.
