Michigan Rummy, also known as Rummoli or Tripoley, is a classic board game that blends elements of poker, rummy, and a special board layout. It’s known for its engaging mixture of strategy and luck, making it a favorite for game nights. Ideally plays well with 3 to 8 players. Uses a standard 52-card deck (no jokers) and a specialized Michigan Rummy board (optional but recommended) that has various sections or pools. The main goal is to meld all your cards into runs or sets, earning points and collecting chips. The dealer distributes cards to players and an extra dummy hand. If the dealer has no special cards, they can auction the dummy hand1. The game consists of phases where players: Each player places chips into designated pots on the board. Players receive five cards and bet as in poker, aiming to have the best hand. Players aim to play cards in sequence from their hands, collecting chips from corresponding board sections when they play specific cards. Certain cards are designated as "money cards" and trigger bonus chip payouts when played. If players discard one of these special cards, they collect chips from the corresponding sections on the board2. Players win by forming the best combinations of cards and capturing chips from the board. The first player to play all their cards or the player with the most chips wins.
