This broke off very early on in my time using it, but I was able to comfortably and easily rig it with a safety pin if I wasn't planning on taking it off a whole lot, or I would just zip it into the opposing pocket. That worked to minimize bounce. It's seen some miles with me, but has many more ahead! Great pack for someone who isbhydration vest curious.
