Larry Moses Begay huge Cuff. museum quality 28oz of sterling silver ans gorgeous Kingman turquoise
Larry learned the craft from his father, Victor Begay. The family lived in a very traditional part of the Navajo nation, in Lukachukai. The Begay family has been perfecting cluster jewelry for decades. Larry is a Navajo Dine’ silversmith and is well known for his highly-collectable, intricate jewelry creations inspired by the landscapes of Navajo fields. His stones are often slightly domed which takes more skill. It gives his pieces beautiful dimension. He is also an expert lapidarist and considered to be one of the masters among Navajo artists.
He is the grandson of Marie Begay, the son of Rena and Victor Begay, brother of Leroy Begay and Eleanor Begay. He signs his jewelry with initials LMB, LB, and a horse hallmark. In widely published and publicly available references he was active as a Navajo artist from the 1950’s to the 1980’s. Some of his pieces are displayed in various museums. He is known and respected internationally.
