Tribal Hmong Skirt - DOSA INJIRI

VINTAGE: An exquisite, authentic, tribal Hmong skirt from the Northern Vietnamese hill tribes. Made of dyed, indigo hemp with STUNNING embroidered pieces in repeated patterns and colors. Hand-stitched and appliqued with cotton and silk threads. The Hmong have a rich, fascinating culture that is apparent in their beautiful, tribal costumes. This skirt is festooned with layers of colorful threads...it is an absolute WORK OF ART! The waist measures 15" across and the skirt itself measured 27" from the top of the waistband to the bottom of the them. Please note: Due to this skirt being made of hemp and embroidered extensively it is quite heavy. I have enjoyed wearing it on many fancy occasions and the heaviness of the skirt was not an issue at all. I received SO many compliments and inquiries wearing this skirt! I usually wore it with a simple white peasant blouse and red clogs. I am hesitant to part with it, but I have a small collection of these skirts and am narrowing my collection down.
