The John Anson Ford Amphitheatre in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles is now known as The Ford. It is an outdoor venue built of concrete in 1931 that can seat approximately 1200 music lovers. Before the internet, handing out flyers for an upcoming concert was the easiest and least expensive way to advertise. Many of the vintage handbills were discarded and finding an original one from 1988 like this one is very rare. The Ramones, with guest band Thelonious Monster, performed at The Ford on Saturday, July 16th., 1988. This 8.5 x 11 inch flyer is also promoting upcoming concerts at The Ford - anti-folk artist Cindy Lee Berryhill performed on July 28, 1988, Camper Van Beethoven on July 30, and The Three O’Clock on the 31st. The flyer has been folded over several times. Has slight age discoloration, pinholes at several places along the top edge, and a little paper loss in the middle of the top edge (see photos). This is the last handbill I have with the Ramones on it.
