fltrbygrl55 @moonlitmansion l love the song, but Galway is a bit north and west from my ancestral home. My paternal family roots are in counties Meath and Kilkenny. They came during the potato famine in the 1860s. Slainte☘️

moonlitmansion I lived in Trim, County Meath for about 5 years before I moved Stateside. My Californian penpal from my school days in the 90's found me on Facebook and we decided to meet. So here we are 4 years later married with a three year old son!

fltrbygrl55 @moonlitmansion My great, great grandfather was born in Meath, County Meath. Was this a pretty area of Ireland? My grandmothers’s father’s family was from the Kilkenny area, his mother and father. I have always wanted to visit to see their origins. I’ve had younger family members visit IRE, but it Was more for fun than heritage. They weren’t interested. I love most versions of the song. ☘️
