Scott Barrie Rare Vintage Silk Top

Scott Barrie for Candeaux very rare vintage silk camisole top. Scott Barrie was known as one of a small group of “brassy and vibrant Black designers” (including Willi Smith and Stephen Burrows) who made their mark in New York in the late 1960s and 1970s. Several pieces by Scott Barrie are in the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute collection. This rare vintage vibrant silk top was designed by Scott Barrie in the late 1970s. It is approximately 25” long. Top is dark cream/tan. Flowers are vibrant red, blue, and purple. Good used vintage condition given its age (see photos).
