Schott NYC vintage 70s distressed leather down puffer hunting jacket / vest RARE

Very good condition vintage 1970s Schott NYC exclusive hunting / outdoors - style puffer jacket -- made with a goose feather + down interior to provide maximum warmth, coupled with rugged leather on its exterior for optimal durability; and a unique zippered hybrid design, allowing the wearer to easily remove both sleeves to convert their heavy-duty jacket into an equally durable vest -- an incredibly uncommon item from this maker, seemingly the only convertible Schott down available online at this time (SUPER RARE). Since debuting the very first leather motorcycle jacket at select Harley-Davidson outlets in 1928, this iconic brand was commissioned by the US Air Force to provide outerwear during World War II, before shifting gears to become an infamous wardrobe staple of the Rock n' Roll and Punk movements from the 1950s thru the 80s -- worn by such stars as James Dean, Marlon Brando, The Ramones, Blondie, Joan Jett & The Sex Pistols. Although this piece features the perfect amount of vintage wear + character for fans of an aged aesthetic, it does show some natural signs of distression, marks, & sparse darkening in the fabric due to age (nearly 50 years old now), as seen in photos.
