@volatpropriis do you know the carat size of the emerald?
Feb 11Reply

volatpropriis
@addy0527 not off the top of my head. I’m in bed already, but I could measure it for you in the morning.

@volatpropriis OK sorry to bother you. Get your rest and we will talk tomorrow. Thank you.

@addy0527 I got up and measured. It was going to bug me if I didn’t lol. The emerald measures approx. 9mm x 4,5mm...I’m not able to measure the depth due to the setting. If guesstimate it’s about 1 carat. It has a very strong presence due to the gorgeous color and the shape.

@addy0527 I also have another emerald ring listed if you’re interested.

@addy0527 Thanks for your offer. I countered. It’s a beautiful ring. I also lowered the price from $350 a couple of days ago.

@volatpropriis I'm sorry I just can't do that price at this time. In about 2 weeks I could. Of still on here and not sold I will buy it for your offer. Is that a deal?

Are you positive this is a natural emerald and not a lab created one?
May 28Reply

volatpropriis
@kimberfox there is no way to be 100% positive absent sending it to AGL or GIA for a lab report. A basic “gem brief” would cost about $85 which is excessive in comparison to the price I have it listed at. That said, here’s what I can tell you...

@kimberfox Under UV light there is no reactivity which means there is no to low chromium (synthetic emeralds are high in chromium. In a natural emerald, both a chromium with high iron atoms (which give a deep green emerald a bluish tint) and emeralds which are predominantly colored by the presence of vanadium will lack fluorescence as this one does.

@kimberfox Further, a synthetic will glow unnaturally bright red when observed through a Chelsea filter. This stone has negligible to no UV reaction, and no visible red through a Chelsea filter. There appears to be very fine Hardin near the prong on one end that is only visible, with difficulty, under 30x magnification. Also, in my time dealing in the vintage and antique jewelry trade, I have not come across the use of synthetic emerald in 14k gold from this period. Does that help?

@kimberfox Hardin = *jardin....oops

What does the DK stand for?
Nov 29Reply

volatpropriis
@michka9196 my best guess is it’s the makers mark/company.
