SOLD IN CROSS POST Vintage 1970 Boho Hippie Panne Velvet Animal Print Long Maxi Dress 1970s Ethnic/Folk/Gypsy/Hippie/Boho/Festival/Woodstock Dress! This isnt only an amazing print and great textile but it's also sentimental one owner Originally sold at my Moms store in the early 1970s The Zoo Boutique at the Mercer Arts Center in NYC (before it collapsed!) a very avant garde theater and music venue. Back to this dress...this is as found ... Although it looks even im not sure if the colors have run or the fabrics was meant to have an ombre effect and when held to light there are a some pin holes most by hem see pic (I showed the largest one with circle from front and back ). It presents itself very well so not bad for 50 years old lol. Dark shrimp color Panne Velvet with aninals in red and blue ... Camels and peacocks goats rams dogs birds etc perfect for the Zoo Boutique The velvet is supple and strong. Scoop neck and low back and nice stretch Length 61" waist 15-19 Bust 17-22 Hips 18-24 Hem circumference 66 My Mom saved this for 50 years I hope it will find a good home and be enjoyed! ...(Another tidbit of info. Peter Max designed her clothing racks. The ends were the heads of different animals in fiberglass. I included a picture of the one that I have and 2 candles she sold & pic of her in the NY Times and the original sign from The Kitchen. Google The Mercer Arts Center...it was so ahead of its time.
