Vintage 1970s Pendleton Chief Joseph Coat fashioned by Claudine Fairbanks (Ojibwe, First Nations) The rainbow of all the Pendleton blanket coats. Shown here on a size 8 Female Dress Form from 1982, adjusted to the height of someone 5'7". 52" all the way around at bust 49" from top of the back of collar (when folded) to hem. Across the back, shoulder to shoulder is 21" The sleeve is 23" 2 side pockets 3 large carved buttons and one inner snap ~~~~~ Details~~~~~ The most gorgeous garment I have ever owned. Amazing details though imperfect condition, the superficial wear is subtle and usual for the age. Recommendation: Lining needs to be removed, patched, or replaced. There are some small moth bites on the wool, shown. While it is not dirty the coat has not been dry cleaned, lived in an air sealed bin for a couple of years, and now hangs in my closet.
