ujibiok@socon hi! I noticed most of my low ballers are actually sellers!!! It straight up baffles me. When you check their closets, they have nothing on sale for $10 or below but want to price you $10. I had one recently and when I countered she declined 😊

socon@ujibiok This is true. My guess is it’s because Poshmark might be their only source of income. There’s nothing wrong with that of course, but I guess if you’re a Karen who stays at home all day, you might be a little bitter.

nicoleluvsyouI’ve seen a handful of people closing their closets and saying they still won’t accept certain offers. Just out of curiousity, why not accept lower offers if you’re going to donate it anyway?

socon@nicoleluvsyou When I say “donate”, I mean that I’m going to take the items that don’t sell to a secondhand store. I would rather sell the items here, but I’m busy around this time of year, so I’m closing my closet. I think that the clothes in my closet are quality made and I’ve taken good care of them. I feel like they at least have half of their original price value even if they’ve been worn.

soconI know that some sellers are just trying to clean out their closet, and that’s fine, but that’s not really what I’m trying to do. I’d like to get a satisfactory amount for what I’m selling.

erikasclosetsI think is very fair and explains situation very well. I doubt lowballers read anything. They are very intent in the numbers game ...I call them the something for nothing gang. One offered 85% off, then 60% off, a vintage rare luxury scarf then told me she was stylist for very wealthy clients, had bought 4 similar luxury scarves on poshmark. ugh

socon@erikasclosets I personally don’t use Poshmark for luxury goods even though they have a market for them just because of the ridiculous offers that I’ve received on more casual brands. I understand that no one wants to pay seven dollars for shipping, but considering that most items are discounted 30%-70% off of MSRP, it’s a small price to pay.

erikasclosets@socon i agree. when we have a lot of followers ...the right buyer us out there. i am doing ok on poshmark, started in january. we dont to take insult offers. i list as much as i can, some sell in a week other items get no interest. if i can pay off my credit card i will be happy.

socon@erikasclosets I’m glad to hear that you’re doing okay, and I hope you can pay off your debt soon! ☺️ I’m in the same position with student loans. Poshmark is more of just getting extra pocket money considering that typically I only make two or three sales in a month because most of my offers are either ignored or I get lowballed.🤷‍♀️ They definitely made it sound better in the commercials and they said nothing about taking 20% of our earnings.

erikasclosets@socon My suggestion is ignore lowball or block. I also suggest you make offers to likers and bundles every other day. I made most sales with new posh accounts by offers so follow follow follow those. Price a little high to discount. Thrifting can make good returns. I met a guy who sells vintage tiffany jewelry he gets his picks cheap off letgo or craigslist then resells and he is making a living. he said clothing was tough sell and he checks trends.

socon@erikasclosets I have a job outside of Poshmark. Poshmark is more like a side hobby that I can make money off of. But I appreciate the advice. ☺️ I’ve also noticed that a lot of my sales come from people who don’t list items to sell.
