Now even lighter than the previous version, the Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo 2 is designed for fast-paced training. To cut weight, Nike completely overhauled the shoe's upper. The Flywire cables were thrown out, and instead, the lightweight, translucent mesh features a partial bootie through the midfoot that creates a secure fit for a wide variety of feet. For the midsole, a layer of Zoom X, the revolutionary foam used in the Vaporfly, provides amazing energy return with very little weight, while the React foam underneath helps to add durability. This also allows the outsole rubber to be minimized in low-wear areas for reduced weight while still providing a long-lasting running experience. All of these features add up to deliver an incredibly lightweight and responsive training shoe that can handle long distances and faster paces.
