@123tammie I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. Early detection is key. I want to educate as many women as possible. I have had 5 melanoma's & would not have caught them early had I not noticed changes & made a dermatology appt. Please check your skin often & have any concerns or changes checked out especially with your family history!

thank you so much for sending me the information on breast cancer and skin cancer. I have had both but thank goodness were mostly minor. Small breast area removed with no further problems. Two squamous cell skin cancers on body and one basal cell on my eyelid.

basal not typically that serious. since it was on my eye, did require removal of section about half my lower eyelid. used replacement skin from other parts of my body to remake eye lid. Two doctors had told me it was a stye. A lot of people don't know about basal cell on eyes because they look like a stye and can have white material inside that you think is infection. they just never go away. about three months recovery time mostly wearing a patch.

when I got into my late 50s and 60s, my body turned into a veritable wealth of moles and brown spots and a little dry skin patches. dermatologist said all these were coming out now from all the years of sun damage I had allowed myself to enjoy!! I go to the dermatologist 2 to 3 times a year to have body checks on all the spots I have in the new ones to keep occurring. wanted to make people aware of basal cell cancer on your eye lids. You have to find a good ophthalmic specialist surgeon.

@shelpen I'm glad you were persistent and kept going to the doctor when you knew something was wrong. We know our own bodies better than anyone & it's very frustrating when physicians don't listen.

sorry my story was so long. I am so scared one day I will have melanoma. It is so sad. All the best for you and thank you again.

@shelpen just check your skin faithfully & get any changes looked at by a dermatologist! I am in my early 40's & have had 5 melanoma's. All different stages. I advocate for all women & hope to educate as many as I can.. Mine would have gone many years & been much worse had I not went in because of a change I noticed. It is scary and cancer is a diagnosis that changes your life forever.

Hi!
I love your closet and I especially love your slogans, etc. I think you're a special warrior. I have multiple myeloma. Cancer of the blood and bone marrow, there is no cure. But God takes care of me and my family every second of every hour, of everyday. God's love and blessings to you and your family. 🙏🏿 Take care. Tanya

I truly hope to make a difference for someone. I educate as many as possible on the importance of being aware of types of cancer & symptoms (I send a cancer facts for women with each sale I ship out) & encourage breast self exam & skin checks monthly. @melissasmith686 This is great!!! I had major surgery to remove a cancerous mole on my back in 2001........ Was only 30 at the time. Luckily I knew these signs and went in right away when I noticed the mole was bleeding....it's important to catch it early so this info is very important! I still go to the dermatologist every 6 months and have had a lot of skin removed and biopsied and numerous pre-cancerous spots frozen off or chemo creamed off but nothing else major 🙏🏼Thanks for sharing❤️

I got diagnosed with breast cancer and did bilateral mastectomy. I got genetic testing done which was positive for pathogenic mutation. Diagnosed with Rare genetic disorder causes a lot of cancer and melanoma is part of it in my gene. It's also a good idea to get genetic testing.

@jamie121323 thank you for sharing. I have been tested for BRCA 1 & 2 but I am only 43 & have had 5 melanomas at different stages already. My dr has not mentioned any genetic testing but I probably need additional genetic testing. I am going to read about your diagnosis. I hope you do well. Thanks again for sharing! ❤️

No problem. I am 28 year old. They recommended because of cancer in my family.

@jamie121323 do you know what genetic testing they did? I would love to look into it. My dermatologist said she thought my melanoma could be hereditary and even had me bring my son in for an exam after my second diagnosis. But still did no genetic testing. I had the breast cancer genetic testing done on my on because my grandmother & mother both have had breast cancer. I do really appreciate you taking time to comment.

I demanded BRCA Next Plus Genetic Testing which screens for all different kind of genetic mutation. All different kind of cancer runs in my family. It was recommended by my surgical oncologist. Genetic mutation I have will also affect my kids in the future with possible autism and maybe severe mental retardation and Cancer.
