@hillaryshouston Hey thanks for the courteous welcome, I do have some questions because I have tried really hard to sell some clothes but they won't sell
Jan 21Reply

hillaryshouston
Alright I'm happy to help. Are you talking about the items currently in your closet?
Jan 21Reply

Honestly I think your listing is perfect. But possibly not as eye catching as someone else with the same item. I will give you a crash course in online reselling 101. You should start by doing a search for the item you are selling. Try it on eBay first and use the refine and sort option to see how many people have SOLD this item.

gmejia23
@hillaryshouston yes ma'am, is there anyway I can rotate the picture like on eBay?
Jan 21Reply

hillaryshouston
To do that you go to the refine button and drop down the menu at the bottom it will say more options. Click it and then click on Sold Items. Now scroll through and see what the highest anyone paid for it and the lowest. And what seems to be the most popular middle ground price. Take note of the photo and descriptions of the highest paid. If they are using a stock photo from the designer, great we want to keep that so right click and save it for later

Now head over to Poshmark and do basically the same thing. Once you have a better idea of what is selling and HOW it is being presented then you are ready to revamp your listings.

The top tools in my opinion for building the perfect post on your COMPUTER are 1 picmonkey.com to edit the photo 2 Canva to design a magazine worthy advertisement for your item. ON YOUR CELL edit the photo with Avery or pixlr then and this is my secret one two punch,

@hillaryshouston Should I buy a backdrop and mannequin for taking pictures of clothes? If so where can I buy one?
Jan 21Reply

Go to instamag on Android or studio + on Iphone and you will be a pro in no time. So now that you have the right photos, price and description now what? Now we PARTY! No really we go to the Poshmark party's. Every night you are sent 3 invites to different parties on at 11am one at 2pm and another at 9pm. They are different themes so you want to rsvp for them all. If it's a shoes theme and you just have jackets THAT'S OK
Jan 21Reply

hillaryshouston
just go to the party and look for things that would go nice with your item. Like it and share it them follow the person who posted it. If they see the share and follow they are likely to do the same thing for you. So they already have an audience who likes that style and now that traffic is being directed to you. The more you share the more exposure your items get.
Jan 21Reply

hillaryshouston
Keep that up and you WILL sell the items in your closet. Also try to keep at least 10 items in your rotation. It will mean more shares and more follows. Did that cover everything?
Jan 21Reply

gmejia23
@hillaryshouston Yes ma'am, you were such great help 😊
Jan 21Reply

hillaryshouston
What kind of phone do you have apple or Android?
Jan 21Reply

hillaryshouston
The Best way to rotate your photos and to do any other type of editing is to go ahead and take several photos first using your phone or camera then after editing upload them to Poshmark
Jan 21Reply

hillaryshouston
but no if you open Poshmark and then take the photo there is not a way to rotate it like on eBay. It just saves time and effort to take a handful of pictures first then select your favourite one and your top three use the favourite one to create a cover in one of the apps I told you about and the next three as your listings

hillaryshouston
Dance your question about should you have a backdrop and manikin that's a hard one to answer and here's one when I first started I went out and purchased several mannequins and store display items now I have a storage unit that is full of these mannequins and store displays lmao because I learned they were unnecessary
Jan 21Reply

hillaryshouston
That was supposed to say to answer your question not to dance your question autocorrect loves making me look like an idiot
Jan 21Reply

gmejia23
@hillaryshouston I have an android phone ma'am
Jan 21Reply

gmejia23
@hillaryshouston No problem about the auto corrector that happens to me too but you can try SwiftKey Keyboard 😆
I was really thinking about buying the mannequin, I also tried modeling the men's clothes I planned to sell.

You live in Houston so do I here's what you do go to Dollar tree and get a tablecloth in the light green colour Google search the term chroma key for product photography. This will explain to you how to use it. Boom, I just saved you 200 bucks
Jan 21Reply

hillaryshouston
http://www.tabletopstudio.com/clothing_photography.html here is a link that will explain to you through the different options of flat lay with chroma key or using a dress form or mannequin. If you want to get a dress form they are easier to manage it is only $60 at Joannes fabric store and they always have 40% off coupons if you look on their website

Okay there is a party starting right now have you gotten a notification for it? If so go to the party go to your closet click on your item click the share button and it will give you the option to share it to the party press that one and that will upload it to everyone attending right now. Don't forget to follow and share as many possible people during the party as you can the chances of you selling your item are astronomically higher if you share and follow more
Jan 21Reply

hillaryshouston
I will go ahead and share Your closet to the party right now to get you started. Let me know later how it worked out for you and if you are able to make some good contacts this time. Good luck to you and keep in touch when we have a Houston meet up I will make sure to send you an invitation
