The opening looks wide, do they stay on ??

@kaitlynhagerman they do! the top is elastic so stretches to help little feet go in and then "holds" them in (like slip on shoes). opening is 1 3/4 at the top and toes area right below the elastic laces is just about 2 3/4 across. Their size chart is pretty accurate but happy to take more measurements if needed. Our guy is freshly in their size 6, hence the selling =)
