A cabochon is a stone polished into one smooth, rounded surface instead of cut into facets. The bottom of a cabochon will usually be polished flat, as is the case with this Ippolita bracelet. Originally purchased by me new, I consider it "pre-owned" even though the original tag is attached as it has some very faint scratch marks here and there and a few on the underside.
