Every purchase made in my closet I will be donating to my sister, who lost everything in Hurricane Ian. She was living in Port Charlotte and unfortunately did not have renter’s insurance. She will be relocating out of state and needs help to get on her feet. This includes basics that we all take for granted. If you would like to help, please share her Go Fund Me link in my bio. Prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Omg I’m so sorry! Your sister and I were in the same boat. We moved to Cape Coral (just below port Charlotte) 3 months before Ian hit and we lost our home too😫 I know that had to be so difficult for her to leave the state! I hope she is doing better♥️🫶🏽🙏🏽

@stephanyy Thank you! She’s adjusting as well as she can. She moved into an apartment near my house, which is good but still trying to start over! How are you doing? Is the insurance company working with you to fix your house or is it gone? So sorry you went through that. My sister lost everything when she was a little girl with Charlie and now that she experienced Ian, she left the state. Those storms are no joke!

@sdshopper Aw man I’m so sorry, they definitely can deter people from living here. It has its ups and downs I guess! But so we were in a rental too because we moved down there rather fast and no the insurance of course declined our claim so we had to start over too. We just bought a house in January so we’re still adjusting having to buy so much and catch up but it’s happening a little bit each day!🙏🏽

@stephanyy That’s how it was for her. She didn’t even get her deposit back bc they wanted her to go into the condemned house and empty it. FEMA told her not to go inside of it. So, she grabbed whatever she was able to fit in her car before the storm (including her pets)and that’s all she had. Now her car isn’t running so I pick her up from work 2-3x a week (😫)

But, at least she has a literal roof over her head. And exactly, little by little. Things will return to normal and it will all be a bad dream. Congratulations on your home! Are you still in SW Florida? @stephanyy
