redxfire Rescue her? Does she need a home? What kind of bird is she?

redxfire How can I find out more about her? My best friend lost his beloved Sunny...his umbrella cockatoo just over a year ago to a terrible disease. I'm thinking it may be a good time for him to think about rescuing another beautiful bird.

kyleepie She's at a local pet shop. The only problem with her is that she is very picky about who she likes and who she doesnt. She's also very obese and is on a seed diet right now. She doesn't like my boyfriend so we are worried we can not give her a good home, but we will keep trying. She has a wonderful personality and is just a goofball. She is an 11 year old Severe Macaw.

kyleepie I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's cockatoo, I love umbrellas. I lost my childhood parrot a couple years ago and it was very tough. I don't run a rescue, my best friend and I are avian specialists and do what we can to help the parrots in the area, including mobile trimming, fostering, babysitting, and general advising.

kyleepie @redxfire I am in school to be a zoologist and my best friend is going for an avian veterinary degree. She plans on opening a rescue here and I plan on going by Seattle and working at a rescue zoo.
