Dragonware Red Tea Cup Saucer Set EVC White Int. Gold Trim Orion Occupied Japan Moriage 1945 to 1952 is the time when this cup and saucer set was made because it is marked Orion Made in Japan Occupied. It is a stunning example of ceramic slip work in creating the 3 dimensional dragons. This cup is striking due to its uncommon red color as well as the dragon figures. The wings are nicely detailed and seem more fanned out and placed higher up on the body than others I have seen. Both cup and saucer are in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, chips or crazing. There are subtle scalloped edges around the saucer and cup rim and base. It also has gold trim around the edges and on the handle that is in very good condition. Set measures approximately 4”Dx2.25”H. It is a delicate size that may be a demitasse or from a very fancy child’s set.
