I take a 40 in Birkenstock which is a 9 USA. Is 39 in this shoe an 8 1/2 or true 9? Is it a wide shoe? Thanks, Sharon

@bowser04 It's a regular width shoe. Heel is not wood, it's like rubber but I can't be sure exactly the composite. You could google it for more info.
