Lovely traditional full circle pleated & embroidered skirt worn by women in Cuenca, Ecuador. Moves beautifully. Red wool. Knife pleats at waistband. Waist closes with ties at both sides. Serated hem is embroidered with floral design in black, white, and metallic thread. Underside of hem is reinforced with plaid fabric. Same fabric forms an additional layer at underside of waist area, giving it more body.
