It can be very hard and I really enjoyed working in alternative medicine. Medicine can definitely be very tough. I have had my ups and downs but serving people and making people smile is fulfilling for me.

I start the nursing program in august so I'll have a break over the summer! I took my TEAs, had my interview and got accepted. I go to Keiser. Just wanted to say, even tho you feel like you're in bout camp today, IT WILL BE WORTH IT!! I've worked cardiac and helped save lives, I've worked hospice and helped people pass with comfort and dignity, now I'm a psych nurse and try to assist people back to reality.

I have been a medical assistant for almost 15 years now and I know what it is like to be on the other side. My experience is definitely helpful and gives me insight, but I learn as if I have never learned before and checked my experience at the door. I want to be the best student I can be!

divineessence @abeautifulchaos Oh my gosh school has been insane!! lol so I am finishing up fundamentals and pharmacology, and I am hanging on! Just finished my first care plan and got near 100, it was a pass or fail. Did my med pass today in front of a few professors and didn't die! lol I passed with flying colors. I am ever so grateful! I really dedicate myself. I do not take this opportunity lightly at all! I LOVE to help others, I love to pour into other people and it is honestly what fulfills me.

I receive with words of affirmation so trust me I am so appreciate of your encouragement!!! I am super excited to be a nurse. I will be done next December! and WOW psych nursing seems so cool! I am leaning into the OR or maybe NICU...I am still feeling it out. I am on a med surg floor now and we have some psych patients in the square. It is interesting. That is for sure.

I do tend to feel discouraged at clinical when I get paired with a nurse who won’t teach or let me do much, but I try to make the best of it. divineessence @ronimase Hey Roni! So school has been going well. I start maternity clinical march 8th, and I am still doing med surg right now aka basic adult. I am blessed to have a 4.0, I work super hard. I have had some great clinical experiences recently. i loved the ER! Lots of neat things in there. I do have a huge heart and passion for people. I do notice the nurses who have lost it along the way and hope they find a refresher!

I don't take my opportunity for granted. There are others who would love to be in my spot. I was asked to be a part of the student council and represent my cohort. artsie_1 Good for you! I dropped out of nursing school in my last year because I got married and pregnant soon afterwards. I thought love could carry me forever. He left while I was pregnant on Christmas night (many yr ago). I never went back to school, but remarried and had 2 more daughters (3total).

artsie_1 I pushed them very hard. I wanted them to be independent. One is an RN supervisor at a major Atlanta hospital, one is a PA, and the youngest manages at spa at a resort. I so admire you for finishing your dream. Good luck😊

janellno5 Congrats on your huge success and that is quite an accomplishment!! I don't know how you did that being a Mom & Wife but for sure you will be glad you did in spite of all the long hours!!! Now down to some more serious work...just that of a different nature right?? Hahaaaa
