I had my jewelry person check your appraisal and this is what he answered: An insurance appraisal is written to answer one thing only:
“What would it cost to replace this ring at full retail if it were lost?”
That number is intentionally high. So therefore it doesn’t represent retail value. Now my question to you is what is the best final price you will be willing to accept cause I would like for my future daughter in law to get the ring.

I understand the insurance value is higher, but that’s a replacement figure. Based on the actual diamond grades and comparable market pricing, I’m comfortable closer to $4,900.00

@lerougestore1 With the fees being over $1,000, $5,500 is the lowest offer I can accept. Thank you for the information. The jewelry store that did the appraisal stated the value was retail and asked if I wanted the appraisal to state for insurance. I said sure, not understanding the implications. I will go back to get new appraisals as I have two very expensive rings I am selling.

@sandralharrison I understand and appreciate your transparency. If you’d consider $5,100, I can move forward immediately. If not, I completely understand.
