I must sell everything in my closet. I am accumulating medical bills, about to start college (so I need to sell before August 25), I'm now on a feeding tube, and may have surgery soon to remove my pancreas. jenlove901:-( I'm sorry that is so sad to me. My son has a feeding tube also but he does eat orally as well. Do you not have health insurance?

anduncan15@jenlove901 I am sorry to hear about your son. I "can" eat orally, as in I was initially encouraged to try after I rested a bit. But I have pancreatitis, so I soon found if I ate orally, without bypassing the stomach, which my J-tube does, I have terrible pain. So, I am probably having my pancreas removed at some point. I do have insurance, and it's not bad, but I still have to pay a few thousand each year while being a full-time college student.

jenlove901My son is 4 and was born prematurely, he has Cerebral Palsy. I don't know where you live but you should apply for Medicaid to help you. That's a lot of copays for someone in your situation. You can have Medicaid in addition to your current insurance.

anduncan15I am so sorry to hear that. Did he have short gut syndrome, if I may ask? I know a lot of premature babies do, and need tubes. I have actually starting looking into it. I do think it would be a good idea.

anduncan15@nataliemm18 thank you so much dear! My parents and I have talked about signing me up for Social Security Disability/Medicaid because I can't work and I am 18 now and technically indigent. And we've also talked about trying to get some of my bills covered by the Ohio indigent fund (or whatever it's called, you know what I'm talking about). I am sorry you have to go through these things as well, and I hope you can get your bills covered! God bless you hun :)

ladybookworm@anduncan15 Hon i read your verbal interactions and i am praying for you. I'm over 60 and have heart problems, wear a pacemaker, blood pressure problems and asthma. My medical is sky high but i do have good insurance. Life is so unpredictable. I just pray every day. I am Blessed And God has been merciful to me even with all the ups and downs i have been going through. You also be Blessed Hon as Our Lord has Never Lost a Case. Happy POSHING 🙏💁🌹😊

cortson81@anduncan15 I am sorry to hear about your health issues. I used to do social work in Ohio and still live here(born and raised!) I know that all of your medical bills will be paid for even your prescriptions if you go to your local job and family service office or even online you can apply for it. I will share your closet and hope you recover quickly since school is starting.

lindsayrose@nataliemm18 that was very helpful information! I'm 30 and it wasn't until my 20's when I got slammed with some major health issues. I'm on my own now and have struggled sooooo hard! AZ is so bad it verges on criminal! Any advise I find from knowledgable people like you, it's always helpful. @anduncan15 I will share the heck out of your closet dear girl! Man I know how difficult it can be to go through all of this! The added stress alone could make a healthy person sick. Our healthcare system is so awful! It has caused me more trauma and more grief, than even my illness does at times! From not being able to work for extended periods of time to misdiagnosis by crappy healthcare providers, denial letters from every government & municipal program (put in place to help us, which we pay taxes for), battling medical bills, now collectors, 'the health insurance marketplace' which has a programming glitch in their computers causing my actual health insurance to cancel about every other month it seems. getting sick from the stress and being sick already making it all compound on itself. It's just the worst and I wouldn't wish these burdens on my worst enemy. I'm glad to see you've already found a wonderful community here on posh! And you are a perfect example of how this community has become so supportive. It's very brave of you to make a post like this, and it gives me inspiration to reach out more and ask for help. Thank you! :)
