I have about 20 more pairs to inventory/catalog (I have too many so I rely on my iPhone to find which pair to wear) and I have probably 20 to list! If you're my size or an 8 I'm listing more this weekend--including some higher end pairs... But mostly cheaper pairs. Those move faster actually anyway

Your taste in shoes is seriously amazing, & as someone with no clue about authentic v replicas I think it's really cool of you to look out for fellow Poshers, it's easy to get taken. I wear a 7...but girl I have 4 kids 5 and under so my heels don't see the light of day too much. But I need some cute ones for date nights with my husband!

tiffcake @mamazthang the job is mostly paperwork and arguing and a cool story here and there BUT i do get to wear sassy shoes to work every day... can't wear open toes in the lab so I usually get to wear TWO pairs--one in bullpen and one in lab if I picked an open pair! Lol! More often than not I'm in lab clothes (meaning not very nice bc it could end up ruined in the blink of an eye) but shoes are my gimmick and make me feel great!

I've been stalking that pair on eBay for weeks so I instantly recognized it & was reaching out to eBay seller because there was $300 price difference so I was confused how she would list it sooooooo much cheaper on site that took double eBay's commision. I paid $800 for mine and I have to pay more to ship them to leather spa to put the strap in the back bc my cobbler won't do it and they're waaaaaay tooo big. I never had an old cut pigalle before. I'm US7 and my 120 lucifers are 37.5 which usually works for me in louboutin even though I'm all over the place. But not for these. I probably needed a 36.5 but... in the meantime I've stuffed the toes, added pads & heel grips!

tiffcake They're worth it. And thanks to buying them way too big, I finally had a reference for all pigalle sizing and was able to score a volcano strassed pigalle for $500 that I normally would have passed assuming they were too small. So I guess it works out in the end

tiffcake @mrsgellman my boyfriend (bless him, he's a keeper) pointed out to me that I told him after researching DYI strassing on TPF it costs about $400 in crystals & 120hrs of work... he says even if the crystals are free, $10/hr at 120hrs is $1200 dollars so I should jump on next pair meridian blue I see in my size if less than $1500... I looooooove this man!!! And he's the one that told me to jump on $700 lucifers in 100mm 37 & I should have listened to him but I waited so womp womp womp lost them!

But... that was b****y so I reeled it back a bit to "not real" lol! We all start somewhere & maybe she doesn't know--but she shouldn't claim to know if she doesn't. First of all, I rarely see a real strass pair under 1k... just a few times! They're insanely expensive retail so folks just don't resale very cheap

If someone doesn't claim them to be real, I tag them in my own listing to discuss it privately. But if they say it is real and nobody else has said anything, I'm blunt on theirs.

I stalk certain pairs on multiple websites so I do spot when people are selling on multiple apps OR when people steal photos from someone else on another app. Stolen photos? That's only deceitful intent!

stacy1607 @tiffcake oh, I've seen the stolen pics. One guy posts a pair of pink So Kate's that he's stolen from an eBay seller. He lists them on here to sell off site. I always report these fakes and stolen pics, but since I got banned for a month, for being "mean" and hurting sales I have to watch what I say. Posh has turned into a flea market with all these counterfeits. If you ever need someone to help report (it takes like 5 different people) or back you up, just tag me! 😀

It's a decent one--but carefully look at the silhouette (lacks those uber shapely forms on the sides of the foot and the box is completely out of proportion & lacks precision. The real ones have very thick leather bows that couldn't wilt/droop even if you crushed them under a pile of shoes stored without their box... I can post reference photos if you need

tiffcake @stacy1607 the other giveaway is the sizing--they're old cut pigalle sizing so they actually fit bigger when authentic (in 7 and usually 37.5 in loub but lucifer I'm 37 or maybe even a 36.5) What size are you? I have a 37.5 lucifer that I need to sell... I replaced them with 37 but they're still big so I can't hold on to both pairs looking for 36.5 lol

tiffcake @stacy1607 think she got tricked herself. They're vibrammed. It looks like they have an authentic box & bag in her photos. So--maybe she's not as familiar with that particular style? Lucifers always sell right away when they are listed unless they are priced way too high. There's been a dry spell--I haven't seen any come up in at least 2 months. I know because I stalk them & have alerts set. Looking for a 36.5 or 37 in 100mm! I can't rock my 120's for long enough. Lots of walking here in Vegas

tiffcake @girlmon40 when you post it, just don’t list the brand and don’t say the brand name in the description. if they aren’t authentic and the brand is listed as Christian louboutin, ppl will give you a hard time. If you don’t list the brand anywhere, then they won’t show up in the searches and that way you can discreetly get feedback on them and delete the listing when you’re done.

tiffcake @girlmon40 there’s certain pairs that I stalk & I never know when they will be listed or if they will list the size/stylename correctly (its easy to misspell on mobile devices & lots of times ppl don’t know the style names or are unsure how to list the euro size as how it actually fits or as the straight conversion) so I just check alllllll the new listings of the brand every day in all the sizes... some other ppl do the same & that’s how they see pairs and comment as soon as they’re posted

tiffcake @lltaylor815 I don’t have any Corneille yet but those are good. The blue filo are good too—filo is my FAVE To wear... I have 7 different kinds of filo! They have Uber thin stiletto which looks nice but also a thin platform that makes them a cinch to walk in and comfortable. The toe box isn’t as tight as other pairs. I actually want them in that color and have eyed them myself but they fit true to size so I can’t go bigger than 37.5

You can post them not for sale (most people won’t search the listings that aren’t available) & I can tell you yay/nay/unsure if you tag me & then you can delete. eBay is SUPER good (can file a claim even outside normal time) Poshmark I’m not as sure about, but if you don’t back down & keep poking they have to do something. A 37 was pretty perfect on me even in fresh patent, even had a tiny bit of slippage on the left which is slightly smaller. I was kind of shocked by the sizing and how relatively comfortable I found them after reading so many complaints...

tiffcake @loubchoogirl I have kristali in 37 (think that’s just a special version of so kate) inferno so kate in 37.5 w/ forefoot halter, & aquarium so kate in 38 w/ poofy heel grip & forefoot halter. The kristali seems like it’s uncomfortably tight... until I walk. It’s the only one that doesn’t slip. The inferno & aquarium are both python.

tiffcake @loubchoogirl Admittedly I don’t wear any of them unless I’m doing lots of standing/sitting w/ very little walking. I bought inferno/aquarium based on fitting toebox. Only after did I learn that a comfy toebox doesn’t last (my feet slide when walking crushing toes anyway & heels slip). Oh... & at work my stilettos squeak on the floor every single step unless they fit really snug which is really embarrassing to me.

tiffcake I think if they made them with the elastic in the heel, I’d probably like 37 or 37.5 w/ a cushion. I won’t admit how old I am but I’ve been celebrating lots of anniversaries of my 29th birthday & something happened where I need a small platform or cushion. Flat shoes hurt my feet a lot so I still prefer a heel but progressively I’ve gotten lazy or something where my feet start to feel worn out 🤣

tiffcake If you have narrow feet/long toes I think that so kate is an ideal fit compared to piggies or follies. I have short toes & avg width but narrow herls. Which means I’m kinda wide for louboutin styles and still always have heel slippage.

Makes me think a 36.5 might work though, which would make a 36 not THAT bad... and then I'd probably be closer to a 36 in Plato which is just crazy to me.

I'll keep an eye on them in the meantime, I really appreciate your help! BTW I also tried an Anjalina 100 in suede in a 37 (just the one out on the floor) and it was pretty big on me, I guess the sizing inconsistencies are still there even in new styles and seasons.

tiffcake @loubchoogirl my understanding is that the latest round of... shall we say “sizing revisions” most recently are meant to improve consistency in sizing. You know, just when we started figuring out what we needed in all these different styles in different years & different textiles!! 🤣 I’m finding that the new pairs are running much bigger than I’m accustomed.

tiffcake @loubchoogirl I pretty consistently was 37.5 in follies 100 & except for python light which is its own sizing planet, I’d now much prefer 37 in both my newest pairs (chevron cork and crow) which I bought too big & now have to use tricks.

loubchoogirl @tiffcake It is definitely steep... I have Anouks and they're about the same, not a comfortable height but manageable. I wouldn't want to go walking more than a block or two but after reading endless comments about people can barely stand in them without crying I was pleasantly surprised! I even squatted down to help my kids with stuff while I was trying them (yeah, they were with me - good test!). I bring Tieks with me whenever I'm wearing heels for a while though... just in case...

janiran Question diff pair of CL. I made the mistake of leaving them in my car/very hot day. And the red sole unglued itself from the rest of the shoe. I had thought of throwing them out, but i can’t seem to. They were my go to shoe and part of the $795 price tag tells me it’s wrong to discard them, like they deserve better. How do i find a good shoe cobbler? And how do i trust them to preserve the integrity of the shoe/red sole? Suggestions/Feedback would be appreciated

Regular maintenance (& repairs when needed) can make them last forever. Do you live in a metropolitan area? If so then it will be pretty easy to find a cobbler just using normal reviews like google or yelp

tiffcake @janiran 2nd... if you don’t live in a metro area, there are 2 places in US that are recommended for louboutin repairs—one is Pasquale’s in southern CA (I don’t know anything about them) and other is leather spa in NYC. I know that leather spa works miracles & they have an online quote process & they’re very accustomed to repairs from around the country—but it is expensive (worth it if irreplaceable)

I have a cobbler in my neighborhood who is convenient but he HAS ruined a pair of my louboutin armadillo brides and he won’t replace spikes for me even if I have the spares (says he can’t without hammering/flattening them)

tiffcake @janiran HOWEVER... if the unglued part is mostly the front of the shoe, one option is having the red rubber soles put on. They maintain their color w/ wear, absorb more impact, & are less slippery BUT to install them correctly the cobbler must cut away the original sole (sticking them on top imbalances the shoe & is a sign of a bad bad cobbler)

tiffcake @janiran bc they have to cut away the original, I don’t recommend doing it until the sole needs replaced. It’s just a “half sole” replacement if it’s a heel pair. Since yours already lifted, it’s a good time to do it if you want it. If the stiletto unglued, they can just re-glue it. They could just glue it even if it’s the whole shoe and you really want the original sole

tiffcake In case I didn’t explain it—leather spa is used to quotes based upon photos, ppl shipping them shoes for repairs, & shipping them back when completed. I have shoes that have vibram half soles installed by leather spa that I can take pics for you & also show you the comparison with the ones my neighborhood cobbler did (not as nice) & I have some that I bought resale that are done pretty badly by whoever did them

tiffcake Bad news: 1) he can’t fix the spike. How they work is there’s a post that’s installed between the interior/exterior shoe layers when shoe is constructed & then cap is installed over the post on exterior. You didn’t have any spares but even if you did, it’s a very costly repair & very risky 2) to fix the stiletto it has to be rewrapped bc the stiletto is patent leather

tiffcake Good news: to fix the scuff he sands the surrounding leather & refinishes—he said it just takes a bit of time but that you can’t tell the difference when done. He said $100 for rewrap & refinish. No spike repair. For free he would replace the heel tips bc whoever did it last didn’t use correct size & didn’t file them to match stiletto’s width

There’s another shop that I know WILL replace louboutin spikes but they cost $$$ (I’m using them for my holy grail circus city missing 5 spikes that’s also getting a stiletto wrap—they aren’t even in my city so I only use them for my Hail Mary repairs)

If people comment that they’re fake their comments are removed and posh threatens them to have their account suspended (when the person selling the fake is in the wrong) I’m really excited for you!!! ctryon Hey! I spoke with you a little while back about my grey Christian Louboutin Palais Royal (you had ID'd them on TPF) I was wondering your opinion on something. I just got in a new pair of CL Suzanna's and I think that I need an extra hole put in the ankle strap- just a bit too loose. Only problem is that I am wearing them in a few days and cant make it to my cobbler before then. Do I risk adding a hole?

tiffcake @ctryon should be able to do it in a day if you explain situation & offer to pay $10 extra. if I walked in, my cobbler would prob do it for me right then if it wasn’t busy (not lunchtime or after work) If it’s pair you’ll keep, then I think you can do it yourself & get him to take care of it after if there’s any issues. If you’ll resell it eventually, i’d get it done professionally. I’ve never done it myself which is why I’m unsure & I wouldn’t want to tell you anything that would ruin them

I check eBay, The RealReal, Yoogi’s, cashinmybag, fashionpjile, lollipuff, Vestiaire Collective, tr🅰️desy... and google of course!!! With eBay I don’t just search internationally from US domain—I actually go to eBay.co.uk, ebay.com.au, eBay.de etc bc there’s sellers that don’t list internationally

tiffcake The tricky thing is that I have multiples kinds of searches—because it’s nice to be specific when people selling know the stylename of what they’re selling and how spell it (and do so without typos—which is worse now that autocorrect fixes things incorrectly/unpredictably) but lots of times people don’t know it or they use odd descriptors... so I tend to use search terms that will encompass several pairs on the list and I just spend more time weeding through

tiffcake @jacksonville123 I don’t have lots of Blahnik/choo (I think maybe only 6 pairs) but I have maybe 20 or so Dior. I’m actually 36.5 in most my Dior. I take 36.5 or 37 in YSL but the majority of my collection is McQueen/Louboutin. louboutin I’m anywhere from 36.5 to 37.5 (but I have a couple 36 in old cut Pigalle styles & some 38’s that I pad to wear... I even have some 38.5’s but I’m slowly replacing all of them bc 37/37.5 work much better most of the time) & McQueen I’m 36.5 or 37 works too.

jacksonville123 @tiffcake I’m selling mine and my girlfriend we’re both completely different sizes that’s why they looked big and yes 100% they run small especially the pumps they’re Nero I’m between 37.5 to 38.5 she’s between 9- 10 so there’s a big difference.

tiffcake @jacksonville123 I can totally help w/ CL if you’re ever interested again. You can just tell me which listing & we can be discreet about it so seller doesn’t even know I think part of my sizing issues is that I can’t afford my massive horde of shoes if I bought them all retail...buying resale, sometimes a pair is stretched but never worn, and for whatever reason CL slips off my heel unless I make them fit VERY snug (I don’t have this problem w/ any other designer pair)

So I’m a member and now my journal subscription to JFS is online. But for the last 10 years or so I was still receiving print copies of each issue. I’m purging my house.... do you have any desire to receive all my JFS articles? Otherwise I will donate them. Your school might have free access and searching online is way easier though.
