Fit products I can’t live without

Everyone that knows a little about me knows I have insatiable lust for hoarding shoes...obviously I can’t afford a horde paying retail so I stalk multiple resale apps & sometimes it takes years for a certain pair to become available—sometimes I buy what’s available for the best price in the closest size, meaning I’ve got lots of experience trying to make things fit!! Generally it’s easier to get tight shoes to fit than big shoes, but here’s what I do to save the pairs that are too big

tiffcake 1)shoolex memory foam inserts for filling gap in toebox in front of toes so foot fits against heel cup—comes in S-XL & I use S mostly & M occasionally. No adhesive so you pop them in when you wear them & remove them/clean when done (only need 1 pair for ALL your shoes) I insert them slanted matching leaving more room for big toes & then they mold to your feet for a perfect fit!

tiffcake 2)padded forefoot halters I buy from cobbler. VERY IMPORTANT: don’t confuse w/ half insoles or ball of foot cushions. They have specially designed, UNEVEN thickness that works sort of like speed bumps for feet preventing them from sliding forward into toebox (leading to shoe slipping off heel even if your shoes fit small—for heels w/ really steep pitches, feet sliding cramps toebox, feeling small no matter how much you size up)
Feb 17Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake 3)ppl place them incorrectly (backwards into toebox matching the insole shape & too far forward). Point goes toward heel not toe & usually further back than you think depending on pitch. They’re tricky so I test w/out adhesive first (placing them to walk & keep adjusting til feet stop sliding) then adhere. Remember, speed bumps not comfort pads!

tiffcake 4)5) gel heel grips—I like the clear bc they aren’t super long so you can hide them in d’orsays & other more open styles. Make sure they’re firm not flimsy (the flimsy ones peel) but they will yellow over time. I really like the extra poofy fabric covered gel ones (ugly but work realllly well)
Feb 17Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake 6)7) fancy suede ones absolutely suck!! I got them for louboutin—thought they blended better & classier. They don’t stop heel slippage & peel immediately (rolling/folding & causing blisters) Don’t waste your $$! 7)also, some cobblers can install the elastics to stop heel slippage. Pricey but works for those who hate look of grips

tiffcake @mlgravesabq here’s the 3 things I do to make large shoes fit. The best advice I can give is that the steeper the show’s pitch, the tighter it should fit you when you buy it. You can break in or stretch but if the length is too long it is really difficult to make it fit & your toes will still always feel cramped
Feb 17Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @mlgravesabq where I mess up the most often is patent bc it’s difficult to stretch patent (doesn’t stretch nearly as much) & if you do it too quickly or too much you can crack it or make it hazy... so I’m always unsure w/ patent how they ought to fit me new so they will fit perfectly as they wear.
Feb 17Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake Suede stretches a ton!! I’ve sold majority of my suede & re-purchased smaller sizes. It stretches at least half size, sometimes full size for me so I make sure suede is TIGHT when I buy it.
Feb 17Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake I tend to buy my patent too big all the time bc I’m scared of its reluctance to stretch. So these hacks really help me
Feb 17Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @sabrinalanglois here’s the 3 things I use most often to make big shoes fit better—I remembered you mentioning the feet sliding/heel slippage
Feb 17Reply
sabrinalanglois
sabrinalanglois @tiffcake yes thank you. I didn’t realize there was something for the inside ball of the foot! I used the gel looking ones for me heels in the past. This is so awesome 😁, definitely tag me if can bear to sell any!! I’m currently home w a 4 month old and 2 year old (and heavier than I want to be) but starting to get myself ready for going back to work — and going out. I’ve been looking for the ones on your most wanted too but haven’t found them anywhere in our sizes.
Feb 17Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @sabrinalanglois try the shoolex memory foam inserts too! They’re $14 on amazon. When I was a kid we were really poor & my mom used to buy dress shoes big so I could wear them longer by growing into them. Then she’d stuff the toes with cotton. These work the same way except they mold to your feet WAY better. I use S all the time and M only for my biggest pairs.
Feb 17Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake I love shoes bc they always fit the same no matter how much I gain or lose... pregnancy however is a totally different thing & I hear from EVERYONE that their feet permanently change afterward. So maybe your big shoes won’t be quite as big anymore.
Feb 17Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake I tried so hard to number pics so I could make comments match them & then I messed up the comments... the elastics (some shoes come with them like some old louboutin & I have some Brian atwood pairs w/ them too) & some cobblers do it. Pic 6 is an old pigalle spikes w/ the elastic also w/ the yucky heel grips that don’t work. Pic7 is the yucky heel grips.
Feb 17Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake Some cobblers won’t install elastics bc they have to take the shoe apart & depending on its construction they can’t install elastics without altering its exterior appearance—it also requires more time/skill & involves risk damaging the shoe/introducing blemishes. My cobbler usually won’t do it. Maybe he’s lazy and lying to me, but it sounds legit
Feb 17Reply
sabrinalanglois
sabrinalanglois @tiffcake so I can get the forefront pads from a cobbler? I’ve used them to fix soles but didn’t realize I could buy things like that. I just read more of your posts and it makes sense that they aren’t just for the ball of the foot. I need them for all my shoes I think.
Feb 18Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @sabrinalanglois the halters I get from my cobbler. I haven’t been able to find them from amazon but if I do I will post & tag you. At my cobbler he has lots of shoe care products & polishes and inserts. Maybe that’s unusual?? But the good thing is that I can feel them & make sure they’re the right ones. Because they are tapered so that they are thickest in the center, facing one of the straight edges that goes toward the toes then they are thin along all the edges & the point going toward heel
Feb 18Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @sabrinalanglois you know, if you can’t find the halters maybe I can convince him to sell online or maybe I can buy in bulk from him and resell them. They’re adhesive so you need a pair for every pair of shoes (meaning... I need lots of them myself) and they’re kinda expensive but I like the dark brown suede better than the light suede. I’ll see if he can give me bulk pricing. I need so many!
Feb 18Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @sabrinalanglois I added another pic—I haven’t personally ally tried this product yet so I can’t vouch for it but it’s on amazon $19 for pack of 3 and it’s purpose is described as what I’ve explained. So I might try them & report back to you—I think the ones I buy from my cobbler are $8 each so the amazon version is cheaper. They’re kinda unsightly though... does that matter?
Feb 18Reply
mlgravesabq
mlgravesabq @tiffcake I wish I could make these work they appear to have stretched from someone else’s foot as I bought them used so probably no hope!
Feb 18Reply
mlgravesabq
mlgravesabq @tiffcake my main problem doesn’t appear I be the heel or toe either but rather the sides are stretched like they had a way wider foot than mine it is strange because I have never encountered this!
Feb 18Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @mlgravesabq oh no!!! That is definitely not a problem that I’ve ever encountered before!! I’m so sorry!! I can understand your troubles though bc I buy most of my pairs resale, so the sizing isn’t as controlled as when buying new
Feb 18Reply
mlgravesabq
mlgravesabq @tiffcake yeah I figured they would be too big by a little bit def wasn’t prepared for the width! I love them sooo much it broke my heart! They were classics

tiffcake
tiffcake @everettsmom16 if you DID already get your rolandos & they’re big, here’s some of the things I use to make big shoes fit better (and one product I definitely don’t recommend is the suede heel grips that you think would be the best for fancy louboutin)

cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire Hi! I'm looking for those heel grips - the ugly-but-comfy type. Do you remember the brand name or where you got them?
Mar 14Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire Follow up question: Between the Shoolex and the heel grips, what's the success rate for a pair of So Kate that's a full size too big? Have you tried? Does it work? Is that just not going to happen? Many thanks!
Mar 14Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire I thought they were dr schol’s but recently I was searching for them online and couldn’t find them!!! They came in a 3 pack and they were crazy saved by the bell 90’s colors/patterns and they’re at least as thick as 2 clear gel ones on top of each other, maybe even 3. I thought I got them at wal mart so I checked there too but no luck!!
Mar 15Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake They’re the best ones if you’ve got a major gap so I’m pretty bummed. For a whole size, I’d use a M maybe if I wasn’t using any other tricks. The problem is so kate is steeply pitched so your foot will slide & it might feel cramped with M but still be big in the back.
Mar 15Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake Me personally, I’d probably try S and M... then depending how each one feels maybe decide whether to use smaller Shoolex combined with grip & halter, or bigger shoolex without anything else?? There’s lots of combos to try but I’d start with the shoolex bc they’re not adhesive. And actually walk. Toebox can feel tight while still too long lengthwise and the only way to tell what to try is the walk
Mar 15Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake The only time I could picture me using anything bigger than M shoolex is reallllllly oversized boots where you can’t actually see my foot. Shoes would look funky if I had mega toe cleavage AND a super long empty point hehe
Mar 15Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire I've made the leap and I'm going to try my luck with the huge So Kate! I've got the small shoolex and a bunch of heel grips etc on their way from Amazon, I WILL make something work! At least until the day my actual size in that damn color shows up. *Sigh*... what we'll do for a pretty pair of shoes!
Mar 16Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire which ones are they?? you have to post them!!! I have so kate aquarium bc that’s the only style that color was available (If I recall correctly) so that pair has the poofy heel grip and a halter (size 38) I have kristali too in 37 (tight but perfect for that pitch) and inferno 37.5... but I scored an NVP in inferno so I might get rid of the so kate (not a fan of 120 w/out platform)
Mar 16Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire @tiffcake I've been stalking the So Kate in Electro Glossy and found a pair in a 40. They're from last year, but I get the feeling there weren't that many made. Stunning color! I saw them at the boutique, but at that point I hadn't quite mastered the 120's. Didn't want to buy something I couldn't wear. Silly me!
Mar 16Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire My best size is a 39, but I have a pair in 39.5 which I can wear without padding if I'm careful (& slow). I know a 40 is pushing it, but hey, it's worth a shot!
Mar 16Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire if you’re able to walk in the 39.5, then I think you’re going to be ok with some shoolex and grips!!!! Yay!!! The pitch of 120 in size 7 is awful... I feel like you need to be at least an 8 to walk properly in 120. I don’t have a clue how ladies below US6 can even attempt it!!!
Mar 16Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake Even slightly downhill slopes are impossible for me in 120... like not even sloped enough for water to flow is too sloped for me 🤣 Admittedly, on many occasions I said f#%$ this and walked downhill backward to keep from falling on my face 😆
Mar 16Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire I just googled them—that color is hottttt!! I totally agree with you... they’re special enough to at least try bc you never know when (or even if) they will become available. Sure, black and nude will always be available. Not those! Congrats!! Lemme know how it works out... there’s lots of stuff to try!
Mar 17Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @adar627 if you haven’t bought your replacement pair yet and would actually like to keep yours instead of trying to find their replacements, this is what I do to make them fit (this is what I would be doing myself to make yours fit if I buy yours!!)
Mar 23Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @adar627 those ostrich corneilles are size 38 and I actually need them in 37. My pigalle follies in crow are 38 and I actually need those in 37.5 or 37 and these tricks are saving me from trying to replace them (and the hassle of selling mine for a loss)
Mar 23Reply
adar627
adar627 @tiffcake thank you Soooo much for this info! I may keep my beautiful shoes after all!! 😍
Mar 23Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @adar627 that’s bad news for me BUT I’m always glad to help people make their shoes fit!! Plus, I know that you’re going to have a hard time replacing them bc they’re sold out in our size for at least a couple weeks already if not months. Those are a special pair—I’m kicking myself that I didn’t buy them before they sold out 😘
Mar 23Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire hey how are your so Kate’s fitting?!?! I’m on pins and needles for you! They would be tough to find replacements in that color 😘
Mar 24Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire They’re working out great! I got the small Shoolex and a clear gel pad in the back, and they’re pretty darn good! I wore them to dinner with friends on Friday and didn’t have any issues. They’re almost indistinguishable fit-wise from the 39.5! So glad I took the risk. They’re so pretty. Next time I wear them I’ll be sure to post a pic of TPF.
Mar 25Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire yay!!!!! I’m so glad to hear it! Shoolex is my new favorite tool—at least for closed toe shoes :)
Mar 25Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake Maybe you can try the M? To make them fit like 39? M is substantially bigger than S though so it might be too much
Mar 25Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @everettsmom16 that first pic is the inserts that I use to get my really big shoes to fit. I use S the most but sometimes M for realllllllllly big pairs. You only need one pair to use for all your shoes since they aren’t adhesive
Mar 27Reply
everettsmom16
everettsmom16 Thank you! I’ve been searching for this bc my 38 CL are also a little big
Mar 27Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire @tiffcake I bought both the S and the M, but the M is definitely too big and puts way too much pressure on my toes. The small works well, but we will see how it goes as they wear in! I've posted a pic on TPF today!
Mar 29Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire I’ll check it out!! Maybe if a bunch of us contact the shoolex ppl and say we need a size between S and M... sometimes my toes feel too squished with the M but S isn’t tight enough for the really steep pitches like so kate. So then I’m still using S with halter plus heel grip (which means I need to buy per pair... I prefer a shoolex only method where I can swap it between pairs whenever I wear them hehe)
Mar 29Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire I can’t find your thread on TPF with the so Kate’s :(
Apr 01Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire @tiffcake It’s just a quick pic on the What are wearing today? Thread. https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/what-cls-are-you-wearing-today-ii.690405/page-417
Apr 01Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire I found them!! I really like that color—glad you didn’t give up on them. They will be hard to replace. Sometimes it takes me a couple years to find replacements in better sizes. Hey do you know if the patent AB is only available in so kate? I have that “oil slick” coloring in black classic pointed Stuart weitzman and in grey round toe platform... louboutin is the first I see w/ it in white & only so kate so far... I’d like it in 554’s or follies
Apr 01Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake Oooooooh I found it in Fifi!! I won’t wear a white shoe that often to begin with & even less in so kate... Fifi would be perfect!!
Apr 01Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire Oh! I saw them online but only available in Europe. You lucky duck! Where did you find them? I swear I have “Louboutin Electro” as a saved search on every site around. Surprised I missed them, not that they’d be my size hahaha!
Apr 01Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire There is an oil slick finish in Pigalle Folles. Is this what you’re looking for? https://www.tradesy.com/i/christian-louboutin-iridescent-oil-black-patent-leather-pigalle-pumps-size-eu-395-approx-us-95-regul/22331486/
Apr 01Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire I think I’ve gotten the threads confused hahaha! You’ve found the Fifi in oil slick? I
Apr 01Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire in patent aurora borealis—it’s that iridescent color but it’s white instead of black. I don’t know how to describe it... it’s extremely subtle compared to black versions so it doesn’t photo well but videos can show it (or real life you can see it change color). I really want it but I only see it it so Kate’s but apparently it IS available in Fifi and lady peep also
Apr 01Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake So I think I want to buy it in Fifi.
Apr 01Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire Oh yeah! I think I’ve seen pics, but only in So Kate. What size are you looking for in Fifi? I look at a lot of listings, if I run across something I’ll let you know!
Apr 02Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire Fifi would be 37.5 but my luck would be that the patent AB is only in 120 and I MUCH prefer 100mm heels 🤣
Apr 02Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire Fifi 100 in AB is still available on the CL site, but there aren't many sizes left. If you have a good sales person contact they might be able to find your size on sale soon. At least it's confirmation that they do exist lol!
Apr 02Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire you’re correct (& my size gone) For whatever reason when I was going to the CL website & viewing “pumps” Fifi wasn’t coming up at all. I could only find them when viewing alllllllll shoes. Maybe its just a snafu on the mobile version. Le sigh. I’ll add them to the list... just like the ombré snake follies that got away last season
Apr 02Reply
everettsmom16
everettsmom16 I bought the shoolex and it sucks it hurts my toes sooo bad. I have no idea what to do bc my shoes fit me in the toes fine but it’s the heel that’s like a half size too big! And if I put something in the toe it hurts!! I feel like I’m never going to find the right shoe or size.
Apr 05Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @everettsmom16 in that case you’re going to need to use a halter (speed bump kind) and heel grip. I have a really difficult time w/ CL always slipping. I now purchase them excruciatingly tight in the toe box and stretch them. It’s worse the steeper the pitch so I stick with mostly 100mm or less now.
Apr 05Reply
everettsmom16
everettsmom16 @tiffcake my cl are fine it’s the jimmy choo that are too big and I’m just going to sell them I guess but they’re comfortable just the heel is like a half size too big. I even cut the shoolex things smaller
Apr 05Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @everettsmom16 well shucks!! Sorry I couldn’t save the day! 😢 I had my fingers crossed. They’re a life saver for me
Apr 05Reply
everettsmom16
everettsmom16 @tiffcake I think the toes are just way too narrow to fit anything else in there!
Apr 05Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @hbutler17 this is what I use to get my shoes that are too big to fit—it’s easier to fit right shoes than loose shoes & you’re even more disadvantaged bc they’re open toe... but if they’re only slightly big you might be able to make your beloved shoes work w/ heel grips & special pads called forefoot halters (they’re like speed bumps keeping your feet from sliding forward, not like the “comfort” pads)
Apr 11Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake *tight* shoes (not right shoes... I typed incorrectly above)
Apr 11Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @wendoubledy above are my bag of tricks for big shoes. For steep pitches like 120 I’d not try unless within half size but for low pitches there’s definitely lots more leeway and hope!
Apr 17Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @donahoukaylan this is what I do to get my big shoes to fit me better. In the Lucifer/old cut pigalles, I would do best in a stretched/well-broken-in 36 but I couldn’t find them so I have a 36.5 now & it’s working w/ heel grip & forefoot halter.
Apr 27Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @donahoukaylan shoolex is on amazon. You will need S (M isn’t going to work w/ the super low cut toebox I don’t think—it will be visible). You can get heel grips anywhere. The halters I get from my cobbler and I can’t find them on amazon—the closest thing I found is Thomas pedag ones in the last pic but I’ve never used them myself so I can’t vouch for them. If you get in a bind I can send you a pair from my cobbler.
Apr 27Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake Those... not Thomas... lol
Apr 27Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire I saw your new ostrich boots on TPF!!!! 😍😍😍 that is the BEST color of ostrich!! I think the dyed ones don’t show the uniquesness of the textile as well. Those are stunning—I’m super jealous! I’m waiting for my newest acquisition to arrive (pigalili Plato in potpouri volcano... $600 from VC!!)
May 03Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire @tiffcake Thanks! I do love the gray. I treated them with the leather conditioner and holy moly it absorbed a ton of it! The color deepened a bit but the look fantastic.
May 03Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire @tiffcake I just googled the Pigalili and omg those are amazing! What a find!
May 03Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire I think your pair looks outstanding—very attention grabbing! Ppl must stop you to ask what they are! I prefer to use my fingers to work in the angelus conditioner/cleaner because then I can feel exactly whether it’s hydrated enough or not. It soaks right in when they’re really dry vs soapy/slimy when it’s had enough and I can start using the excess to “clean” (wipe away the dirty residue with a cloth & keep spraying/working with fingers until no more dirtiness)
May 03Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire you’re correct also that the color lightens when it gets dried out. It’s not as rich. Conditioning them is like a real life vivid instagram filter haha! I have tons of python so I use lots of it but a bottle lasts most people a long time and it’s not that expensive.
May 03Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire @tiffcake Yayyy! I found the So Kate Electro in a 39!! They were not cheap, but it's the first and only time I've seen them in my size. I'll save the Shoolex for the next pair ;)
Jun 06Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire that’s what I like about them—you pop them in and out. So even though they’re pricey, you don’t need to buy them separately for multiple pairs :)
Jun 07Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire @tiffcake I was spelunking around in my attic looking for the box for a pair I'm selling, and found a pouch with 6 tiny gold spikes & a bunch of screws... This is kind of weird as I don't own any with tiny gold spikes! They look like they might be the same as on your Circus City - Do you need any spares?
Jun 08Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire i don’t need them at the moment BUT I will still totally buy them from you because I’ll probably need them some time in the future! Maybe what happened is one of the pairs you bought resale had the little bag of spikes bc seller didn’t look inside and just assumed they were heel taps. Or it could even happen at store/boutique if multiple boxes opened and stuff gets placed back incorrectly
Jun 08Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire @tiffcake I wasn't trying to sell them, I'll be happy to gift them to you! If you want to drop me an email with your address I'll pop them in the mail! claire(at)halloin(dot)net
Jun 08Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire @tiffcake Did you mention a while ago that you have Argotik, or was that someone else? If it was you, how do they run? Do you like them?
Jun 11Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire I do have argotik in Black patent. When I’m back at my house tomorrow I’ll double check the size and fit. If I recall correctly, they’re 38.5 and I’d prefer 38 but there’s a tiiiiiiiiiny chance I could wear them in 37.5 if really broken in. I could be mistaken but I think it’s a miss cliche w/ fancy stiletto so if you have any experience w/ MC maybe that would help w/ sizing. Me and patent don’t get along.
Jun 11Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @spanausn this is how I get loose shoes to fit better. Me being US7 trying to make 37.5 suede So Kate to fit, I’d try the halters and a heel grip. S shoolex also if previous owner stretched the suede. It’s hard bc so Kate is 120mm (I normally take half size smaller in 120mm compared to 100mm) and it’s awful at first but tight shoes hurt less than loose shoes that cause blisters and I can’t walk if the shoe keeps flipping off my heel
Aug 17Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire Hey there! Do you have Fifi? Can you tell me how the sizing runs? I'm eyeballing a pair (blue strass! Just what I totally don't need!) and I'm trying to talk my self out of it. Is the sizing the same as PF or SK?
Dec 19Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire I have two pairs of fifi and I definitely wouldn’t wear them any larger than 37.5 for my size 7 feet. Lemme go see if they’re a perfect fit or whether I could go down to 37
Dec 20Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire if they’re meridian blue I am soooooooooo envious!!!
Dec 20Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire both mine are 100mm. Napa spikes fits perfectly but I could do 37 if stretched a bit. Watersnake rocaille is big and I would much prefer 37 in that particular pair. I wear so kate in stretched 37 for a perfect fit or padded 37.5 (120mm heel slippage issues) PF100 I sometimes prefer 37, sometimes 37.5 depending on the pair.
Dec 20Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @briannefield I use shoolex memory foam inserts from amazon to fill the gap in front of my toes (when I was a kid growing up we didn’t have money so we’d buy shoes bigger than we needed so we didn’t outgrow them as quickly so they were stuffed with cotton) these are more comfortable than cotton. Sometimes those work better for me if the toebox is narrow and I can’t really manage the extra insole
Jan 04Reply
cadillacclaire
cadillacclaire Do you happen to know the style name of these: https://highheelhierarchy.com/product/christian-louboutin-lucifer-bow-pumps-50-red-leather-pump/ They have the bow of a Lucifer but a small metal heel and a peep toe. Pretty sure they are NOT Lucifer though...
Jan 28Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire yes I have them! Red pair and a gold pair. It’s Couche Nodo. They fit true to size in my size range. I could probably even squeeze myself into 36.5 if I had to.
Jan 29Reply
tiffcake
tiffcake @cadillacclaire I looooooooove then and wear them frequently but the two wears out on them super fast. I feel like it doesn’t last a dozen wears. I do have some concrete to cover though. Maybe if I was just in carpets/indoors they’d last longer

cadillacclaire Know anyone looking for Lucifer Bow in a 35? There's a pair on VC for a stupid low price, only caveat is they're resoled in black.

tiffcake @cadillacclaire nobody has reached out to me recently but i saw a couple pairs go pretty fast the last few weeks. Resoles can be redone in red for a decent price and if they’re 120’s 35 probably fits a 6 right? Bc I’m 7 and I take the 120’s in 36

cadillacclaire Soooo.... when you were buying obvious fakes did any slip through? Did posh authentication catch them all? I may have had too much to drink last night and may have gotten into a bit of a pissing match and absolutely bought a pair of fakes assuming Poshmark will reject them.

tiffcake @cadillacclaire nope—every time either the seller failed to ship or posh notified me after headquarters received them that I’d been refunded. I never bought any that I was unsure about though. They were always obvious and i only did it when seller claimed authentic and usually made up story about how they were purchased directly from a boutique by themselves or their sig other

tiffcake @cadillacclaire my best prediction is that the person will back out and block you so you can’t post anything (so it looks sold and you can’t comment that you never received them) but if they do ship then posh makes them pay to ship back (if they want them returned) and then posh will let their account remain. If they don’t pay for return shipping, then their closet is inactivated and they have to make a new account

tiffcake @lipstickandvodka not sure if these will work for you but I am size 7 & I prefer a snug fit (37 in louboutin especially higher pitch) but I can’t pass up a super rare pair so sometimes I use shookex memory foam to fill the gap in front of my toes, a forefoot halter pad to keep my foot from sliding forward, & a heel grip. It works for half size too big in steep pitches & full size big low pitches

tiffcake @lipstckandvodka 👆👆 see comment above (I typed your username wrong) I use this triple combo to make my Corneille 100 in ostrich wearable (they’re 38.5 & I need them in 37–but they’re exceptionally rare so I had to make it work... it doesn’t work SUPER well but it works well enough)

tiffcake @cadillacclaire i saw those!!!! I love vampomax enough that I might back “backup pairs” just so I don’t fret if I damage them. There’s a pair here on posh for a good price but it’s 37.5 and I’m not sure if I can wear that anymore. I’ve been sizing down in everything lately.

tiffcake @cadillacclaire How have you been? I found the spare spikes again that you sent me (that I had packed up to send back to you when you needed them but my boyfriend never dropped them in the mail and then you ended up getting some from saks I think?) it’s perfect timing bc I’m heading to LA to drop off a bunch of pairs at Pasquale’s for repair!!! I’m so excited to fix them all but not looking forward to the quote 😭😭
