Here's a very dramatic Belle Epoque - style brooch, suitable for a Russian empress--swans facing each other like lovebirds, with a semi-heart shape above and a large Rivoli rhinestone in a flowerlike setting. Plus a dangle, which no imperial brooch would be without. *** This brooch exists in a cheap modern copy. You'll notice small differences made to defeat copyright and trademark laws. The brooch I'm offering is true vintage. Based on the style and the eras when really big brooches were popular, my estimate is 1990s, although the style is more antique / Fabergé in flavor. I bought this piece years ago, before the fakes were made, and for more than I'm asking here. The crystals are not Swarovski level, but they are finer than you'll find on reproductions made now. It was part of my collection of huge brooches, which included Staret and Joseff models. Condition The front is great, with little "dying" of stones. The back shows more wear, with discoloration to the plating--evidence of vintage time passing.
