mak4525 love this. i don't wear dresses much, so i'm not sure how to do the measurements. I'm going to compare it to dresses that i already have in this style. what is the measurement from armpit to armpit, across the bottom of the armpit? Can you measure from the bottom of the armpit along the side hem for the next ones? I'll need a measurement 6 inches down from the bottom of the armpit, then 12'' down. Is this near the waist region? I'll continue in the next comment.

mak4525 i wish i could just hold this up against a dress that fits me. that's what i'm trying to do with the measurements. what is the measurement across the narrowest part of the dress? Then again about 12'' down, where I assume the hip area is. What is the measurement across the garment at the bottom hemline?

mak4525 Does the material stretch much? Is there a slit anywhere on the bottom for ease of walking? Did the dress not fit you or not suit your style? And do you have any idea what size clothing this would correspond to, like, 6, 8, 10? I'm asking so many questions because it's not returnable and I'm risking about $40 if it doesn't fit, with no guarantee of selling it and making my money back. thanks for answering my questions

jjj9_4 @mak4525 To answer your best question, I cannot give you an accurate representation of what this dress would correspond to in size numbers (4, 6, 8, etc.) because it can vary so much between brands, and I am afraid to even give my best informed ‘guess’ in the case that I may end up misleading you if we have different ideas of what those numbers represent...know what i mean?

jjj9_4 @mak4525 I LOVE this dress, and it suits my style very much! The colors are so beautiful! But, since I live in a small apt in the city & have limited closet space, I have had to make a rule for myself that if I have a piece for 6 months & never wear it, It’s time to let it go! In this case, it is just that the fit isn’t right for me, unfortunately.

jjj9_4 @mak4525 It is 5% spandex, so there is a little stretch to it. There are not side slits, but they really wouldn’t be necessary given the a-line shape.

mak4525 @jjj9_4 i don't have measurements handy, but i take a 38b bra size; am 5foot 6 tall about 150 pounds. I have wide shoulders, and tend to have a deep ribcage. anytime i try a dress with a side zip in the torso area, i have a heard time zipping it up, even though the rest of the dress fits fine.

jjj9_4 @mak4525 For reference, I’m 5’5”, 138 lbs (just weighed myself to check!), i wear a 36B, and I have rather wide hips. There is a bit of a gap on the sides right under my pits bc it is slightly too big for me there, so that’s why I never wore it. There is no zipper (just a button at the top of the back), and as I said, there is some stretch to it. It’s a little loose on me everywhere & not stretched anywhere when i put it on.
