wlew @tigercub48 God Bless you for caring for your mother. I took care of my mom also 24/7 for almost a year, and I would not change a thing. It was a gift from God to be able to be there for her when she needed me, as she was always there for me.

bagladykris That is a difficult 24/7 job. I took care of my grandmother. When I saw the way even good nursing homes treated patients I knew I couldn't let her stay there besides she had a cat she really missed so she moved in with my husband and I. It was hard but worth. Remember to take care of yourself too!

tigercub48 @sony6969 thanks for the encouragement. I have been carrying for up to 3 people (family) since 2002. My aunt died on my birthday in 2004. My husband died in June 2009x. I only have my mother now and she is going downhill. It is wonderful knowing you can help out when you are needed. Nursing homes make me cry. See you at the party

tigercub48 @alaskagem thank you. She is unable to walk after this last hospitalization. The home health people are sending physical therapists and occupational therapist and a bather out starting Monday. The last 3 weeks have been very hard. But God want put more than you can handle on you. Again thank you. Please keep us in your prayers.

rjsjes I cared for my mom for 3 years, she's been gone for almost 14 months and I miss her terribly. I gave no regrets, I was right where God wanted me to be, and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. God bless you & your mom. Never miss an opportunity to tell her you love her

tallison Bless u! It is so difficult being a CG. I hope u are able to practice good self-care. I know it can be hard to find time to take care of u! 😊 I am a social worker for a Home Health agency & see this all the time. Hopefully ur connected to some good resources for assistance/respite care. 😉

tigercub48 @tallison I wish. I am an only child and all of my aunts and uncles are deceased. I do have a fiancé who is being very understanding. He takes care of his 81 yr old father. He still works and he comes over twice a week for a couple of hours. I have not been out if the house since the Sat before Christmas. Our home health has ended and mother still can't get around that good. I miss my guy. Oh well she will eventually get better. It's just going to take time. Keep me in your prayers.

tallison I'm sorry to hear that. U may want to check w/ your county as there should be an area agency on aging where u could receive some in-home care/respite care for free or reduced rate depending on ur mothers income. Just something to try. Hope it helps. Take care. 😊
