brand new sealed rare REP54117 She Shot Me Down VINYL LP Frank Sinatra & Friends This 1981 offering is often referred to as Sinatra's last great album as Frank delivers a powerful and emotional performance that reminds one of his 1950's mood albums. Not much in the way of swinging tunes here, but heavy on songs of reflections, regrets and lost loves. Even the updated lyrics of "Thanks for the memory" ends with a sad lament of a relationship gone sour. For some unknown reason, the version of "Long Night" included here is an edited version, the full one was released on a complete reprise box set years ago. The main negative from this album is perhaps it's overall depressing feel and lack of even one upbeat song. But it is Sinatra at his expressive best, the voice hardened by the years and perfect for the album's intent. One last masterpiece from the old master.
