huipil — a traditional handwoven tunic, most likely Guatemalan. The giveaways are the deep burgundy striped cotton weave, the square neckline covered in dense hand-embroidered flowers, and that embroidered strip running down the center front. These are traditionally woven on a backstrap loom and the neckline embroidery is done by hand, which is exactly what collectors pay for. I can't pin down the exact village from one photo, but the style and the floral yoke are classic Guatemalan work
