Yves Saint Laurent F/W 1991 Liquid Gold Silk Lame Draped Evening Dress Gown

This stunning gown from Yves Saint Laurent’s Fall/Winter 1991 collection is one of the designer’s most memorable creations. A similar gown was worn by Yasmeen Ghauri on the runway and later featured in the book Yves Saint Laurent: Gold. Seen on Elaine Irwin and Karen Mulder in Yves Saint Laurent’s early ’90s campaigns and editorials, this gown remains a true collector’s piece. Made from silk lamé, the fabric shines like liquid gold, shimmering beautifully with every movement. The gown drapes softly over the body, gathered at the shoulder and hip, and fastened with gold metal buttons that give it a sculpted, elegant shape. The skirt flows gently to the floor with a high side slit that adds a touch of sensuality and grace. In very good condition with few minor snags. The dress does NOT come with a belt, it was styled for the runway this way. Labeled size FR38, runs small comparing to modern sizing.
