Purchased this vintage (from the 70's) hand knotted, x-long wool runner from a Turkish rug site on Etsy. I liked the fact that it's wool and the simple, neutral pattern and colors. I purchased it knowing it had a stain (see pic 5) and decided to take a chance on a professional cleaning by a rug pro in hopes that the stain could either be removed or faded to the point it wasn't noticeable. I am selling it because our decor style and focus changed and I no longer need such a long runner.
If you're interested, please be aware that while the cleaner did a great job of freshening up this potentially 50 y.o. runner, the stain is still there but is indeed quite a bit faded (pic6). Maybe this sits under a credenza or longer piece of furniture? Problem solved!
Also, this is wool and handwoven and practically an antique - it has a history. Considering its age I'd say it's still in very good shape. The wool pile as expected has fuzzy tufts here and there and for some reason there's a small greenish tuft by the stain - go figure.
Origin:
Oushak rugs are named after the city of Uşak in Western Turkey, where they were traditionally produced. Oushak rugs are considered to be Persian-influenced, unlike many other Turkish rugs. Oushak rugs are generally woven with wool, sometimes incorporating cotton, silk, or metal threads. They are characterized by their Turkish (or Ghiordes) knot weaving, which creates a dense and durable pile.
