Woven Straw Handbag with Embroidered Pastel Flowers. Vtg. 1960s - Adorable

Rectangular box shape that opens up into 2 halves down the middle. Measures 11.5 x 7.5 x 3.5 inches deep. Unused in very well - preserved condition. Vintage from the 1960s. Really pretty and perfect for spring and summer. A perfect accent for many warm weather outfits! A great for Easter through the summer ... Bag is well made and sturdy. It has leather hinges on the bottom, brass hardware and fastens securely. The straw is coated in a plastic type material. Purse is lined in fabric and has 1 pocket inside. . Sturdy handles coated in the plastic as well so they will not break like pure straw ones often do. The label inside says "Bag by Donna" made in the Philippines. This bag was made to use and last - it is not one of those straw tourist bags that wear out quickly. The front is decorated with skillfully hand embroidered flowers in pink, blue, lavender and yellow with green leaves. The panel of embroidery is done on a rafia like fabric that is inset into the wicker as if it is in a picture in a frame. Purse has brass " feet" on bottom to protect it. All in all a well made and attractive vintage bag. Upon inspecting this purse carefully I can say a lot of thought went into its design and fabrication. It is well designed and well made. A quality handbag comparable to well made big name modern bags, True Vintage in excellent contain. It is rare to find one of these in such good shape!
