About the artist…. “‘I took art in college and had to paint a large picture for our final grade and would be judged by art class. Of course… I was then first to present. After my presentation, there was a pregnant pause…followed by a booming voice from the back of the room cackling out “that picture is like a picture that hangs above a bed in a really cheap motel.” So there you have it. I have been involved with art ever since.’ Woody Create-ures is the imaginative world of an artist who marries mixed media with a dance of fabric scraps, repurposed bits, found treasures, and endless affection — whimsical creatures who seem to have leapt off a technicolor woodland page or wandered from the edges of a dream. No two are alike, because no two stories are the same. Demetria took hundreds of hours to stabilize and bring back to life… she was a found treasure that needed life brought back to her.
