What exactly IS glove tanned leather?

Early Coach bags were skillfully made in the US from thick and supple full grain leather that was tanned for the production of baseball gloves. In the 1960s the owners sought a quality material that was made for repeated use and that only gets more tough, worn-in and beautiful over time. The leather is natural and untreated through and through, only dyed with a mix of opaque aniline dyes and conditioners to allow for natural creases, grain, pores and scars to remain visible. 📸 cred @lmgriffiths
