Fashion and Style are not the same. “You can buy fashion. But style is in your DNA” ~ Iris Apfel You either got it or ya dont. And simply put, a vast majority of you dont. It is what it is. But everything aint for everybody. And theres room for us all. Our beloved Iris Apfel is gone. But at 102, she broke all the rules before she left! I saw her in the Harlem African Market in 2015-2016. She was buying huge, eclectic, gaudy, bold accessories. I followed her to the sewing rooms and watched her pick waxed african textiles and call the tailor by name to customize her a maxi dress out of the material. She had no entourage. It was just her and her assistant. She was very matter of fact. and alert. and sharp. and gentle. and kind. How fitting her timing, that she ascended this earth in the middle of 2024 Paris Fashion Week! 😂👏🏽 Well Done, Apfel, Well done! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
