• The Empire State League was a short-lived Class D minor‑league circuit that operated for only one season in 1913, entirely in Georgia, with six teams: Americus, Brunswick, Cordele, Thomasville, Valdosta, and Waycross
• It began on May 1, 1913, and wrapped up around late August
• After 1913, the league was renamed the Georgia State League for 1914
• The Waycross team entered the league as the Blowhards, the name used only during the 1913 Empire State League season
• They finished the season with a 43–52 record, placing 5th in the six-team standings, tied 13½ games behind the pennant-winning Valdosta Millionaires, who went 58–40
• Total attendance was about 20,688, averaging roughly 436 fans per home game
• The team had previously existed briefly as the Waycross Machinists in 1906 in the Georgia State League.
• After the Blowhards season, in 1914, the Waycross franchise was revived under new names—the Grasshoppers and eventually the Moguls—in the renamed Georgia State League, and later in the Florida‑Alabama‑Georgia (FLAG) League in 1915
• The Empire State League folded after 1913; the Georgia State League ran in 1914 and evolved into the FLAG League midseason in 1915, but by mid-1915 it disbanded completely
