Warm Maui Winds~10x14 inch Limited Edition Giclee from Barbara Steinberg~2005

"Warm Maui Winds" was painted on location from the pineapple fields overlooking Jawz Beach in Haiku, Maui. It was a very challenging painting that took 68 hours, often in severe, windy conditions. In the fields, the pineapples' sweet smell drew in hundreds of biting insects that made it an adventure to paint. "I was in awe of the grandeur of the crashing waves on the cliffs, whitecaps and the Haiku Lighthouse on the distant cliffs." Barbara's husband held her umbrella as it was so windy, the painting took off and blew 100 feet down below into the trees. He hiked down and found it perched in a tree unharmed.
