Original U.S. military M-167-A clipboard made by McCloskey-Grant Corp., dating from the WWII to early Cold War era (circa 1943–1952). This model features a fiberboard backing with steel hardware, which predates the later aluminum versions used in the mid-to-late Cold War.
Originally issued for field use — including in command posts, vehicles, and communication stations — this clipboard was designed to hold mission documents, maps, or orders under rugged conditions.
The clip mechanism is still functional, and the original olive drab finish shows authentic wear consistent with its age. Light surface rust is present on the steel components, but the board remains structurally solid. A great example of mid-20th-century military gear.
Ideal for militaria collectors, WWII reenactors, or as a piece of vintage industrial decor.
