My great uncle flew B-17’s in WWII. He brought this home and kept it in his war chest. He spent time in Italy, Africa, Europe. He was shot down twice and had two mid-airs, came home after completing 39 missions. He evaded enemy capture in occupied Yugoslavia. This is very vintage, 1945! Hate to see it go but I can’t keep everything forever! Smells slightly like inside a trunk but it’s mild. We are non-smokers. Seems to be a cotton velour. Slight fraying on one corner - due to way it was made.

This is so beautiful. My grandfather was in WWII. He too was a pilot. I don’t have anything like this from my heritage heirlooms. Sorry you are selling it.
