Original "For England and Democracy" teapot from WWII, made in England and marked "Escorted to USA by Royal Navy." Features a classic Rockingham brown glaze with hand-painted enameled floral and scroll pattern in gold, turquoise, and orange. This iconic piece was shipped to America during wartime as a symbol of Allied unity and is collectible British export pottery, produced by Staffordshire potteries.
The pot measures approximately 8" wide by 6" tall. Stamped on the base with the WWII rope insignia, lion, Union Jack, and patriotic text. The lid is hand-lettered "For England and Democracy." This teapot was designed as propaganda and a fundraiser during WWII, and was sold to support the war effort and raise awareness for Allied relief. Exhibits expert hand-enameled accents, typical of English pottery from the 1940s.
Condition: The teapot body is in excellent vintage shape, with bright paint and minimal glaze wear. The lid has old cracks and loss, repaired and stable, with no effect on handling or function. No teapot base chips, but expect glazed surface wear from age. Reference photos for detail.
A striking, historic collectible for World War II or British homefront collectors, military memorabilia enthusiasts, or anyone who enjoys unique antique teapots. Ships carefully and securely, ready for display.
