A Bit of History: Willow Tree figurines, designed by artist Susan Lordi, emerged in January 2000, known for their simplicity, emotional resonance, and lack of facial features, allowing for personal interpretation and making them popular collectibles. Lordi hand-carves the original of each piece in her art studio in Kansas City, Missouri, using a special sculpting clay. The original sculptures are cast in resin that captures her knife marks, and each piece is then hand-painted.
